FOUND - Lost Blog from 10/9/06

First of all, the following is a blog I lost from 10/09/06. Just wanted to publish it here for my own info down the road.

Katelyn is awesome! Although I still think she is very fussy sometimes, Jeff remembers things that I don't, like Kyle not wanting to sit in the stroller for a long time or Kyle not liking when we left him behind the security gate in the living room. How come I don't remember that stuff? I think back and I just remember a really charming, sweet little baby almost all of the time. So that makes me wonder if Katelyn really is fussy now or if she is just totally normal and having two kids just makes everything so much busier that she seems fussy….
She's finally babbling and cooing a bit more which is a relief, since it didn't seem like she was trying to talk or make noise much. Then again, with Kyle talking practically non-stop all day long, maybe she just seems quiet. Although Katelyn likes to be held A LOT, she is such a happy baby. One of the great things about babies is that all you have to do is look at them and smile and they almost always hit you right back with a HUGE smile! I love her goonie little grin. There's really no other way to describe it. It's just big, toothie, and it makes you want to smile and laugh as soon as you see it. Goonie! She does this right after eating - pops off, rolls her head to look up at me, and then - BAM - big old, silly grin that says, "Hey Mom, how ya doing? I'm great!" I love her so much. She is so beautiful.
Kyle is non-stop. He's growing out of his naps, which is really tiring me out since Katelyn routinely gets up about 3 times a night. And more when she is teething or has a little cold! He talks all the time now, and sometimes Jeff or I lose our patience with it and will snap out, "What, Kyle?!" after hearing him say, "Hey, Mom," or "Hey, Dad," for the 20th time in a 3 minute period. But he is really a doll! The way he says things or the face he makes with certain statements just crack us up all the time, and most of them just don't translate to the written word because it's all about the facial expression or the intonation of his words. One thing he tells just about everyone he sees now is the whole rundown of names for him and Katelyn: "My name is Kyle. That's Katelyn. But we call her Katey. And Aunt Jenny calls my Ky Ky. And I call myself, Super Kyle!"
