Terrible 2's and Potty Humor

So a LONG time has passed since I updated. Everything just seems so busy all the time. For all those of you who told me, "Oh, two is much easier than one,": you're wrong!! Two is way harder! Just for different reasons I guess.

Anyway, Katey is in the difficult phase. She's not quite two yet, but the last month has been awful. Kyle went through this same thing at almost exactly the same age, so Jeff and I know we will just have to bear through it another month or two. Or maybe we'll get lucky and it won't last three months like it did with Kyle. Anyway, for those of you that have kids, she's just at that age where everything is about No - she doesn't want to get in the car seat, she doesn't want to get dressed in the morning, she doesn't want to put her PJs on at night, she doesn't want to change her diaper. Basically, anything that isn't her idea to begin with must be wrong and therefore she must throw a tantrum about it. This makes for very tiring days and nights.

On the bright side, the passed two days have been great! She's on an "up" week, which is awesome because when she's not being difficult she is adorable! She is talking so much! I can't believe how many new words I hear from her every day. She's much more affectionate. Both days when I picked Kyle up from school she would watch Kyle hug his main four friends, and then she went around giving the kids around her hugs, too (there are always a set of kids that love the "babies" that come to the school and come up to her). Previous to this she had pretty much given them the lower lip and cold shoulder. She's starting to become more easily occupied, too. She can sit and watch a twenty minute TV program in the morning while I do a chore or dishes and such, which is a great help. So far, she seems to really like Sesame Street, Tigger and Pooh, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and most especially, Little Einsteins. She'd probably like the Wiggles, too, but they aren't really on at a good time in the morning when I'm trying to get stuff done.

Speaking of which, the Wiggles have been pushed aside by Star Wars! Kyle is back on his Star Wars video game. Yes, at only 4 1/2; I'm so proud, , :o(. And he recently watched both firsts in each set of the trilogies and he just loves and adores them and wants to either watch the movie or play the game all the time. He's also just discovered potty humor. Yes, many times during the day we get to hear all about pee pee and poo poo in every possible scenario you could imagine, especially completey senseless stuff. This is driving Jeff crazy.
